Gluing up the head and heel.

Planing the edge square to the top surface.

Planing the neck taper

The head is attached similar to the way Rick Turner does it. This joint will be reinforced with several layers of veneer. Like Rick's Model 1 electric guitars. I've used this on some of my classical guitars as well.

Veneers have been glued up in the two forms shown in this photo.

Here is the form. The outside form has sandpaper mounted on it to help shape the neck

Back of head is carved to fit the laminated veneers.

Checking the fit.

Gluing it up with Gorilla glue.

Head joint lamination.

Head ready for shaping.

Truss rod channel has been cut. Now I'm routing the head shape.

I use a template and a router table.
