| Gluing up the head and heel. | |
| Planing the edge square to the top surface. | |
| Planing the neck taper | |
| The head is attached similar to the way Rick Turner does it. This joint will be reinforced with several layers of veneer. Like Rick's Model 1 electric guitars. I've used this on some of my classical guitars as well. | |
| Veneers have been glued up in the two forms shown in this photo. | |
| Here is the form. The outside form has sandpaper mounted on it to help shape the neck | |
| Back of head is carved to fit the laminated veneers. | |
| Checking the fit. | |
| Gluing it up with Gorilla glue. | |
| Head joint lamination. | |
| Head ready for shaping. | |
| Truss rod channel has been cut. Now I'm routing the head shape. | |
| I use a template and a router table. | |
